Power Instinct is a fighting game series started by Atlus in 1993, and was the first “parody” fighter that took pride on its light-hearted take of the genre. In the 90′s, you may have played the first Power Instinct for SNES/Genesis or perhaps Groove On Fight (aka Power Instinct 3) for the Sega Saturn. Fast-forward to 2002, when Martimelee aka Power Instinct 4 was released on the Neo-Geo; this was one of the very last Neo-Geo titles and showed that Atlus hadn’t yet let go of the series.
Finally, in 2009, Atlus released Goketsuji Ichizoku Matsuri Senzo Kuyou for Japanese arcades, which translates roughly to Power Instinct Festival: The Ancestors Commemoration. This is the 5th main installment in the series, and we’ve recently acquired this rare gem for your enjoyment!
Power Instinct 5 features 5 new characters from the previous installments as well as an Aerial Combo and Chain Combo system similar to the Marvel vs Capcom series.
