Welcome to Arcade UFO, the only Japanese-style Game Center in Texas!

Our goal is to bring you the newest and most interesting arcade titles from Japan, Korea, the USA and other countries while providing a haven for the fighting game, music game and racing game communities.

At the same time, we respect the origin of arcades and always try to feature a few great classic games with our limited space.

We opened Arcade UFO to follow in the footsteps of the legendary Einstein's Arcade (R.I.P.). Our goal is to continue Austin's 20+ year tradition of community-based video arcades.

We welcome gamers of all ages! Alcoholic beverages are not served nor allowed for consumption at the arcade.

Let’s all give a warm welcome to the brand new Korean touch-rhythm sensation . . . it’s DJ Max Technika!  1.00 per credit will net you 3 songs on Easy/Normal difficulty or 4 songs in Hard mode.  Play on the bottom touch screen while the crowd sees your progress on the top HD monitor.  If you’ve ever played Ouendan/Elite Beat Agents for Nintendo DS, it borrows a bit from that but with a lot more variety!  Come try it for yourself and see what the hype is all about.

The game also supports data cards for storing play stats and unlocking additional features.  We haven’t received our shipment of cards yet, but we’ll be sure to tweet it as soon as they go on sale.



Konami announces Metal Gear Arcade

So during Konami’s conference at E3, Hideo Kojima revealed that one of his current projects is directing a coin-op arcade version of Metal Gear!  Supposedly, Metal Gear Arcade will be based heavily on the Metal Gear Online feature in MGS4.  The game is also supposed to incorporate 3D goggles!

It’s pretty exciting to hear new arcade news at a conference based mostly on console gaming, so the Metal Gear Arcade announcement was a huge surprise.  What hardware will this run on ?  Will it use specialized cabinets?  We anxiously await more details from Konami regarding this title!
